Failed Deployments

The failed deployments metric is tracked over time to create a correlation between time, root failure cause and impact to the deployment. This metric is measured per release and during specific time periods. The use of this metric can help to determine how effective deployment tools and processes are, and further how they can be improved and optimized.

The failed deployments metric is measured during the Deploy phase.

Note that the failed deployments metric can be linked to the MTTF metric, explained shortly.

This pattern is covered in DevOps Module 2: DevOps in Practice.
