Code Quality Monitor

The code quality monitor is used to monitor development and testing stages to determine the percentage of submitted code that has been automatically tested. This monitor is commonly integrated in the source code management repository, testing tools and build servers.

The code quality monitor is used across all pipeline stages.

The code quality monitor is typically associated with the Customer Support Tickets, Error Rates and Automated Test Pass Percentage metrics and can be applied across testing, staging and production environments. Using the code quality monitor in the production environment can be useful to map bugs that were not detected but were still caused by development, as well as bugs that were not detected during testing and have been deployed into production.

This pattern is covered in DevOps Module 2: DevOps in Practice.
